    The Environmental Nature Center (ENC) is seeking a passionate, organized, and collaborative Education Programs Manager to join our team.

    For more than 50 years, the ENC has inspired children, families, and our community through hands-on environmental education. We serve thousands of students each year through school field trips, Traveling Naturalist programs, Nature Camps, and educational programming at our LEED Platinum campus in Newport Beach and ENC Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary in Modjeska Canyon.

    This position is ideal for someone who is both an exceptional environmental educator and a strong administrator. The Education Programs Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of our education department by coordinating school programs, managing Nature Camps, recruiting and mentoring our team of Naturalists, scheduling staff, and ensuring the smooth delivery of high-quality educational experiences.

    The successful candidate will also occasionally teach environmental education programs and serve as a mentor and coach to our Education Staff. We're looking for someone who leads by example and is committed to creating engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences for children of all ages.

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Experience teaching environmental or outdoor education programs.
    • Experience supervising, mentoring, and training educators or camp staff.
    • Outstanding organizational and scheduling skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • A bachelor's degree (or equivalent professional experience) in Education, Environmental Science, Biology, Natural Resources, Recreation, or a related field is preferred.
    • Knowledge of California native plants, wildlife, and ecology is highly desirable.

    Compensation

    Full-time
    $60,000–$75,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
