Inclusion of Gender Minority Participants in Environmental Education

Description: Gender minority students, such as transgender and non-binary students, are often excluded from education settings. This workshop will explore data collected on the barriers to inclusion in environmental education settings and how to remedy the issues caused by these barriers. This training will have content for both educators and program managers, so no matter your role in environmental education, this training is for everyone.

Presenter bio: Mattie Forte-Goldman (xe/they) is a non-binary environmental educator at the Youth Science Institute, a graduate student at Project Dragonfly at Miami University, and a New Leadership Council Fellow (NLC) in the Silicon Valley Chapter. Mattie has previously published in Canopy LGBTQIA+ Folxs Need a Voice in the Protection of Our Planet – What is Stifling Our Voices? regarding a call for participants in a research project xe will share findings from.

Note: the presentation portion of the webinar will be recorded and shared with all registered participants.
