PROJECT LEARNING TREE

 

              Workshop Leader TRAINING OPPORTUNITY

 

The California Project Learning Tree (PLT) program needs additional workshop leaders. We would like you to join the ÒnetworkÓ of PLT volunteer facilitators. Please join us at this leadership training workshop.

 

When and Where?


Friday, March 11 (4:30-9 PM) and Saturday, March 12, 2005 (8:30 AM to 3 PM) at the

NRCS-Plant Materials Center in Lockford (near Stockton, San Joaquin County)                


 

 


Who can apply?

Anyone who will lead or help sponsor Project Learning Tree workshops may apply. This 12-hour facilitator-training workshop will prepare and certify you to represent the PLT program in your region.  Upon completion of the training, you can offer PLT as a professional development workshop for teachers, youth group leaders, natural resource managers, parents and others. The goal of PLT workshops is to demonstrate to educators

 how useful the PLT materials and program are in helping integrate environmental education into their program and curriculum as well

 as meet CaliforniaÕs academic grade level standards.

 

What are the benefits?

When joining the PLT facilitator network, you will be linked to one of the most dynamic groups of ÒEEÓ leaders in California. You will receive ÒBranching Out,Ó,Ó a newsletter for PLT facilitators, a variety of information to help keep you up-to-date with the trends in environmental education along with opportunities to attend additional training and gatherings.  PLT also offers an annual awards program to recognize the outstanding service of those who implement PLT in California.
