$5,000 and $10,000 Energy Education grants
Greetings,
BP is again offering $5,000 and $10,000 grants for innovative energy education at schools in California. Last year, Mission Springs Outdoor School (Scotts Valley) received a grant and is now in the process of installing some cool solar projects. (read more here: http://www.aplusforenergy.com/SWP.htm - midway down the page)
This is an opportunity for ANY Outdoor Environment School, located in California, to raise funds to implement a solar energy project/curriculum at your school.
Why AEOE Schools? Because of the HUGE potential for reaching many many students via one site. We strongly support the AEOE network of schools and recogize the A+ for Energy grant as great opportunity. Our hope is that several AEOE schools will apply and we can continue to make progress over the coming year.
I've attached a template with sample budget. (download as a word doc | download as a pdf document) You can use the exact numbers included. These are fairly accurate, though can be adjusted to match your site needs once the grant is awarded. The proposal includes installing a gridtie solar electric system (1kW) - we now have available discounted solar modules from the used market (they are in excellent shape). Also, a solar fountain if you haven't already done so. Hands-on materials, teacher training for your staff. etc. Please add or edit any project information you'd like. more info on your particular school, how many students visit, grade levels, which school districts visit your school, etc.
The website for the grant is
located here http://www.aplusforenergy.com/
Make sure to fill out the application to go with the proposal.
You can also submit the application online.
Please call or email with any questions.
Looking forward,
Tor
