Outdoor Education Assistant

Program Description: The Clear Creek weekend program serves middle and high school students of LAUSD. In a mix of activities aimed at social/academic growth and nature appreciation, students participate in group initiative games, instructional hikes and other traditional camp activities.

Program Type: Residential

Job Description: Assist in and lead daily operation of environmental education program; including leading hikes, participating in campfire program, running meals, and supervising cabins overnight. Twenty minutes from Pasadena/Glendale area off Angeles Crest Hwy. The position was recently split between two staff members in a "job share" type of arrangement, each working approximately every other weekend. We are seeking to continue this arrangement, which could make this a nice opportunity for extra income while still having half of your weekends free.

Job Duration: Year Round

Job Status: Part-Time

Qualifications: At least 18 years old. High school graduate. Able to live on-site during shift. Desire to work with children. Experience in residential programs, education, science and/or recreation a plus, but not required. Reliable tranportation. This position is for the girls' dorm supervision and requires a FEMALE applicant.

Salary: $12.50/hour
Benefits: PARS and Worker's Compensation
Housing: Provided During Program only
Meals: Provided During Program Only
Comments: Friday 4:30 PM--Sunday 1:00 PM (22 hours total)
