Program Description: Jefunira Camp is thrilled to announce our seventeenth summer of camping adventures! Our program is built around a simple and proven philosophy: to provide a nurturing, safe, and fun camp experience for all children. We are a play based summer day camp program that emphasizes inclusive activities in a setting where campers are encouraged to enjoy the participation in activities rather than focusing on scores or competition. Our combination of an exciting, well-rounded program and a talented, creative, and experienced staff provide an extraordinary summer experience for children. Jefunira Camp is a mix of good old-fashioned summer fun, games and activities from around the world, and our own unique innovations. We provide a nurturing, safe, and fun camp experience for all children!

Job Description: Jefunira Camp, a Peninsula day camp entering its 17th year, is seeking applicants for a camp counselor position at our Palo Alto and Mountain View sites. We are looking for positive, upbeat counselors who think working with kids on a daily basis is the best summer job possible! We take pride in hiring one of the most talented, diverse staffs around, and are looking for counselors with a wide variety of interests, skills, and hobbies. We are looking for energetic, caring people with experience and interest in working with young children. Special skills and/or talents are a plus. (Nature lovers, artists, storytellers, athletes, jugglers, bakers & candlestick makers are welcome to apply.) We provide on the job training, entertaining co-workers, and an incredibly supportive clientele. You provide daily enthusiasm, unbridled creativity, and a love for children. Most importantly, applicants should be prepared for a summer of games, cooking, art projects, and one-of-a-kind activities unique to Jefunira Camp!

Qualifications:

• Applicants should be at least 18 years old, and have graduated from HS
  
• This job requires moderate to strenuous physical activity, and counselors are expected to actively participate in all games during the summer
  
• Counselors will have a variety of responsibilities, ranging from planning and prepping activities to running games and providing child management
  
• Counselors will work in teams of three, with an average ratio of 1:7 campers
