
American River Conservancy
Environmental Educator
The American River Conservancy is seeking a highly qualified environmental educator and administrator to present programs and provide administrative support for the Environmental Education Programs.
General Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with the Environmental Education staff to learn and present
school programs.
Participate as a summer camp leader, helping to plan and implement summer camps held at The Nature Center in Coloma during June and July. This will involve occasional planning meetings during the school year, full time work for 4 weeks of Camp, and part-time planning and preparation work for the alternate 4 weeks during camp season.
Assist the EE staff with administration of EE programs:
phone calls
bookings
and confirmations of school programs
camp paperwork
all promotional
mailings and fundraising mailings
support
in organizing special events such as Nature Bowl and Environmental Teacher
of the Year
assist the
staff of EE in overseeing permanent and rotating exhibits in NC exhibit room
keep track
of EE supplies – organizing, ordering
volunteer
management for EE volunteers
manage bookstore
Experience & Qualifications:
Education: A Bachelor’s degree is desirable, with coursework including environmental sciences and education.
Type of Position: ¾ to Full time (Flex)
Beginning Salary: $14 to $16 hour
Job location: American River Nature Center in Coloma, and
traveling to schools in El Dorado County.
Job Duration: Year Round
Housing & Meals: Not Provided
