Adobe
Acrobat PDF is a cross-platform document format that allows highly
formatted documents to be viewed and printed with an appropriately
configured web browser,
or downloaded and printed with the reader application, on Macintosh,
PC, and UNIX platforms. To obtain the free Adobe Acrobat Reader and
web browser plug-in, go to the Get
Adobe Reader site. If you have
an older version, you may get better results with the latest version.
If you are using a "non-standard" browser and Adobe Reader won't work for you, Shubert|It makes a great free PDF viewer, so you can view PDF files online, or choose to download them after viewing. Go to Schubertit.com to download it. (free for home and educational institution use for not-for-profit activities)
The latest version of web browsers will always provide the best viewing experience and compatibility with Acrobat, but be sure to read the system requirements for each version so that you do not move beyond the capabilities of your computer. The lastest versions are:
PC
Mac
If you replace rather than upgrade your browser, you will need to copy the web browser plug-in from the Acrobat Reader web browser plug-in folder to the plug-ins folder of your web browser.
