Meals are planned to be long enough you can take a 1/2 hour to eat either at the start, middle or end of the 1.5 hr meal break, & still get to your event in time. Register Early! Space is limited. To make sure you can come and that you get your choice of housing options, register as soon as you can. Click Here for Registration Form. Just $140 if your registration is postmarked by March 18, 2005. $165 if your registration is postmarked March 19 through April 1. Registrations by mail not accepted after April 1, 2005. After April 1, rate is $185 and registration is in person only at the conference—if space is available.

Housing: We have a limited amount of dorm and camping space. The later you register, the more chance that your housing option has filled. We will contact you if your option fills so you can plan accordingly. Dorm housing is typical camp dorm style with no bedding provided. Most cabins are a 2- 5 minute walk from the dining hall area. Bring a sheet or blanket, sleeping bag & pillow. Camping is on a flat open creekside area just down the driveway, about a 7 min. walk / 2 min. bike ride from central camp. We have tent & car camping, quiet areas, late night music & campfire opportunities! Bring your bike! Premium housing also available (See registration form).
Food: AEOE asks the kitchen to provide food for each of its vegetarian, omnivorous and vegan members. If you register as an omnivore, please eat that food choice for the entire weekend. If you randomly choose to eat vegan for a day, someone who registered as vegan will lose their meal. If you have a food allergy or dietary limitation, let us know on your registration form to allow us to work with you as best we can to get you what you need.
Meal choices are provided for each of AEOE’s vegetarian, omnivorous and vegan members based on your registration form choice. If you have special food needs, please list them on your form so we can work with you to get you what you need. You may also want to bring any special foods that you require. If you choose to register as an omnivore, please eat that food choice for the entire weekend. If you randomly choose to eat the vegan choice for a day, someone who registered as vegan will lose their meal. Day use and “no food” registrants will not be allowed in the dining hall during meal times. The dining hall is not open between meals; please use the Maple Room Tea House for hangout, coffee drinkin’ and meeting space.
Special Needs: If you have special needs, abilities, serious medical conditions or allergies, please let us know how we can work with you to make your conference successful. Include this information on your registration form to allow us to plan for your safety and comfort.
Transportation: We need a transportation coordinator! Need a ride? Can you give a ride? Looking to carpool with someone? Contact our volunteer coordinator, if you are able to coordinate transportation or check the AEOE website for transportation details. Contact Melody Mischke at
.Parking: Parking is limited and we encourage carpooling. To encourage you further, there will be a $5 parking fee, which will be waived if you carpool with at least 3 people per vehicle. Pay parking fee at registration.
Job Fair: Bring your resumes, job announcements, and program information for sharing at the Job Fair Sat. at 12:30 at the Muir Room. Program representatives will be there to answer questions, hand out & take applications.
Auctions: AEOE’s auctions exist to raise money for Joie’s Daisies conference scholarships for our members who need financial assistance to attend conferences. All items for the live and silent auctions are donated. If you would like to donate something to AEOE to be auctioned contact Tamara Palmer at
or (831) 588-1898, (831) 338-2215.Tea House: Relax, slow down and have some tea! The Maple Room Tea House is open all day to all AEOE members for free coffee, tea and treats donated by our sponsors. Please bring your own cup.
Photo Contest: AEOE is having its annual photography contest. Bring your titled photo to the registration table by Sat. 1pm to enter. There will be three categories, extracted from the ABC’s of ecology. Abiotic—any pictures that are of water and rock, including landscapes. Biotic—wildlife, flowers, trees & other living things. Cultural--images of people. Share your vision with the community. Judging at 1 on Saturday—prizes!
History: Dr. Bill Hammerman will be having an informal talk with members titled “Recalling the Early Days of Outdoor Education” Sat. at 6pm. Eat early & come hear about our roots!
Howard Bell Award: Presented on Sunday morning at the closing ceremony. Click here for more information
Talent Show: There will be a Talent Show on Saturday night. Prizes will be awarded for the best original acts/skits/songs! Open to new and amazing talent. Sign up early as space is limited, with Jared Pruch at

Click here for more information.Journal & T-shirt Swap: If you want to participate bring 25 copies of your program’s journal to the conference... and you will take away 25 from other programs. Bring a NEW tshirt or two to trade. Meet Sun AM at 8:30 at Visitor’s Center to trade!
Merchandise: Acorn Naturalists, who donate many of our prizes, will be back with books, tools, and naturalist equipment for sale. We will also have a limited amount of other vendor & AEOE merchandise available. Cash or check only accepted for AEOE purchases, but Acorn Naturalists does accept credit cards.
Conference Tshirt: Tee Shirt design is here! Click here to see it! Limited numbers of conference tshirts will be available to buy at registration when you arrive. The design is a line drawing of California with an artistic rendering of people, plants and animals historically and naturally found in California, printed on 100% organic cotton tee shirts. Bring cash or check to buy one (AEOE cannot accept credit cards at this time).

Offered by the Solar Schoolhouse—Building Solar Fountains and the Leopold Education Project—How to Use Aldo Leopold Education Project Curriculum, both are excellent opportunities available to conference attendees.
