AEOE 2005 Statewide Spring Conference:

"California's People and Places"

Main Events

Conference Speaker: Jon Young

Jon Young will be one of the keynote speakers for the 2005 Spring AEOE Conference. Jon inspired us at the 2001 conference at Westminster Woods as well. He is a founder of the Wilderness Awareness School and still serves as a master teacher for Wilderness Awareness School's adult intensives and workshops, and at the Wilderness Awareness Residential Program. Based in California, Jon also offers programs and classes independent of Wilderness Awareness School. See jonyoung.org to check on his independent programs. Inspired by his childhood mentoring with tracker and author Tom Brown, Jr., Jon has pioneered blending Native mentoring techniques from around the world with the tools of modern field ecology. Under Jon's guidance, Wilderness Awareness School, which was originally founded as a high school nature club, has grown to reach students all around the world with its programs that help people reconnect with their native environments. Jon has created several popular training tape series which can be purchased through the products section of the Wilderness Awareness School website, and he is the principal author of both The Kamana Naturalist Training Program and The North American Master Shikari Sequence for CyberTracker.

Check back for more information and updates on his keynote and workshop.
