AEOE Spring Conference Malibu, 2002 "Environmental Education: Coming to our Senses" |
The Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education (AEOE) announces its Spring 2002 Statewide Conference April 26-28, 2002 at Camp Hess Kramer & The Steve Breuer Conference Center in Malibu in the Santa Monica Mountains. The site has easy access to the ocean, tide pool, chaparral and riparian ecosystems.
Workshops will be planned on the theme "Environmental Education: Coming to our Senses" for the beginning as well as experienced environmental educator from residential outdoor schools, classrooms, nature centers, museums, agencies and other settings.
AEOE is thrilled to announce that Byrd Baylor will be keynote speaker for this conference. She will also be presenting two workshops and be available for book signing. Some of the books Ms. Baylor currently has in publication are Everybody Needs a Rock, The Other Way to Listen, I'm in Charge of Celebrations, The Table Where Rich People Sit, Hawk, I'm your Brother, The Way to Start A Day, and Your Own Best Secret Place. Her books will be available for purchase at the conference. There will be an article in the Summer newsletter reprinting the ENH (Exploring New Horizons) web page on Bird Baylor.
